However, the security feature of the router&#8217;s IOSs is disabled by default and has to be enabled. Then required VPN commands (crypto and etc.) will be available. The activation is quite simple and functionality was tested for PT versions 7.3 and 8.0.1:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Start the packet tracer and place an 1841\/1941 router on a workspace or open an existing project that is using such routers<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Open CLI and type <strong>show version<\/strong>. We may see that the security feature is not activated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img alt=\"\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nil.uniza.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/image-1.png\" class=\"wp-image-6198\" width=\"459\" height=\"445\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nil.uniza.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/image-1.png 945w, https:\/\/nil.uniza.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/image-1-300x291.png 300w, https:\/\/nil.uniza.sk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/image-1-768x744.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>3. go to the global privilege level (enable, config t) and type<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Router(config)#license boot module c1900 technology-package securityk9<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>4. and once the IOS will ask for acceptance type Yes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">ACCEPT? [yes\/no]: yes<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>5. then jump to privilege using &#8222;End&#8220; or Ctrl Z<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Save the config using <\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Router# Copy run startup<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>7. and reload the router<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Router# reload<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>8.
