{"id":447,"date":"2011-05-12T08:11:37","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T06:11:37","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2018-11-01T01:07:48","modified_gmt":"2018-11-01T00:07:48","slug":"installing-backtrack-50-64bit-gnome-virtualbox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nil.uniza.sk\/en\/installing-backtrack-50-64bit-gnome-virtualbox\/","title":{"rendered":"Installing BackTrack 5.0 64bit GNOME on VirtualBox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Prerequisities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Downloaded BackTrack 5.0 ISO image from<a href=\"http:\/\/www.backtrack-linux.org\/downloads\/\"> the site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Installed  <a href=\"http:\/\/dlc.sun.com\/virtualbox\/vboxdownload.html\">free Oracle VM VirtualBox<\/a> application.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Create a linux virtualPC inside of the VirtualBox and settup its  parameters (RAM, number of CPU, disk size (8GB be enough), Network  connection)<\/p>\n<p>2) Insert iso image into a virtual CD<\/p>\n<p>3) Boot the Backtrack as a live distro<\/p>\n<p>4) start the X win (startx cmd)<\/p>\n<p>5) start the installation of the backtrack clicking on the install.sh icon placed on the desktop<\/p>\n<p>6) follow the installation steps provided (7steps)<\/p>\n<p>7) restart the system and then unmount installation cdrom from the virtualbox<\/p>\n<p>8) log in as <em>root <\/em>with password <em>toor<\/em> (default)<\/p>\n<p>9) run &ldquo;fix-splash&rdquo;
